Drawing on data from the 2022 EU-SILC survey, this study examines the socioeconomic, housing, and climatic factors that drive energy poverty in Greece. The analysis identifies key determinants—including income, education, gender, household size, tenure status, and regional conditions—and provides evidence-based insights to inform more inclusive and effective policy responses.

This publication represents an important milestone in our ongoing efforts to advance research on energy poverty and to support policies that promote social equity and sustainability.

We gratefully acknowledge the support of the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (ELIDEK / H.F.R.I.), under the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0”, which made this research possible.

We’re happy to share that our conference paper—presented by PhD candidate Vivian Angeletopoulou in Cairo, Egypt, in November 2024—has now been officially published in the conference proceedings!
This marks a significant milestone for our team, as it highlights our ongoing research efforts and reinforces our commitment to addressing key challenges related to our EFPORE-SE project.
We’re proud of the insightful presentation and the valuable discussions that followed, which helped position our work within the broader international dialogue on energy and fuel poverty.
A big thank you to Vivian for her excellent representation, and to all team members for your continuous support, input, and dedication!
